Mahlako Financial Services proudly marked its presence at the prestigious 2025 Southern African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SAVCA) Private Equity (PE) Conference, held in Cape Town from 11 to 15 March 2025. Our esteemed co-founders, Makole Mupita CA(SA) and Meta Mhlarhi CA(SA), together with executive director Mitesh Pema CA(SA), attended the event, engaging with industry leaders, investors and innovators shaping the future of private equity in South Africa.

Throughout the conference, key topics such as inclusive economic transformation were at the forefront — themes that align closely with Mahlako’s vision of balancing growth with impact.

When asked what elevation means to her during the conference, Meta Mhlarhi shared:

She further reflected on the importance of representation in the industry, highlighting initiatives aimed at inspiring young people to consider careers in private equity and venture capital. She said:
“Organisations like SAVCA, the work that they’re doing to create awareness for young people when they go to university to learn about the industry and what it is all about, is so important. That’s why there is even more of a need for people like me, a woman coming from Limpopo, to actually be in this sector — so that a young girl coming from a rural village in Mangame can also know it’s possible.”
